Nothing can characterize a living space more than exquisite wood floors. At AFW, we see ourselves as our clients advocate and work hard in tailoring the floors to their very personal design.

Area Floor Works is San Francisco based wood flooring and a design-driven company founded by Avetis Sanasaryan. From an early age, besides graduating from an Art School in Yerevan, Armenia Avetis always had passion for wood. In early 2000s Avetis moved to Bay Area to make a career with his talent and knowledge as a second-generation woodworker and abstract artist. After settling down his roots at wood flooring industry in San Francisco, CA soon Avetis launched his own company Area Floor Works.

AFW was founded with a bold objective: to offer an exceptional service, passionate craftsmanship, and high-end wood products for architecture and design. With great team of artisans and advanced machinery AFW can manage any size project.

Our Services

Finishing

In addition to designing and installing all types of hardwood floors, we are also experts at color matching and finishing. Our custom color sampling process will ensure we achieve the right color for the project you are designing. We use the finest hard wax oils, traditional oil-based polyurethane or low VOC water-based finishes to complete the finishing process. AFW utilizes a dustless floor sanding process, which significantly reduces the dust in the air.

Installation

We install custom floors, herringbone patterns, chevron patterns, parquet, hand-cut borders, medallions, and inlays. We use only NWFA standards for floor installation. With our meticulous installation workmanship, we are confident we will exceed your expectations. Refinishing

Refinishing is an excellent solution to making old floors look brand new, without installing a new floor. Refinishing enables us to remove deep scratches, grooves, stains, and other signs of heavy wear from old wood. We believe hardwood floor refinishing is a long-term investment and should be done with a passion for high-quality workmanship fueled by education and experience in the industry. We customize our refinishing services to suit your particular floor and the problems that you want to address. Using a combination of sanding machines, hand sanding, and buffing, using the highest quality stains and sealants, and with careful attention to details, we can get your hardwood flooring repaired and looking their best again.
